Some people have no choice when it comes to purchasing a grill. Perhaps you live in a condo or apartment and there are rules prohibiting the use of gas grills. What are you to do? Well, if you want to grill you have no choice but to purchase an electric grill. Luckily for you there are a lot of options these days when it comes to these types of grills. You can find an electric grill in pretty much any style you can find more traditional grills. In fact, there is even at least one type of electric grill that operates like a traditional grill cannot.
The most convenient of these grill appliances is the table top grill. These are great for just bringing outside, plugging in, and starting to grill. Most of this type will need standard 110V power, so no need to do anything special. They are not typically the most powerful of grills, but they get the job done and your food won’t taste any different than if it were cooked on any other grill.
Table top grills are also available as pedestal grills. This basically means the grill is mounted onto a pedestal. Think pedestal sink and you get the idea. The biggest reason to use on of these is that you have a more permanent grill situation. You don’t have to move the grill around or have a table handy on which to put the grill. You can just walk outside, plug in your grill, and, well, grill!
Built in electric grills are the third most popular type. If you have an outdoor kitchen, you will probably want a built in grill. Luckily there are a lot of options for you. One popular type of electric built in is the downdraft cooktop. This looks pretty much like the cooktop in your indoor kitchen. This type of grill usually has a fan that sucks the smoke and hot air downward and out a vent through the wall. Some people absolutely love this type of grill, probably because of the cleanliness factor it brings. Others would argue that it is not real grilling, but who cares whan other people think? if you like it, that is all that matters.
If you are in a situation that prevents you from using gas, there is no need to not grill. As you can see there are plenty of electric grills to suit any situation.
