Remodel Your Home With New Window Valances

Remodeling doesn’t have to be another stressful event in your life. Sometimes all it takes to get a new look for any room is a simple adjustment. This is especially true when changing up your window treatments. One way to make a simple adjustment using only your windows is to hang window valances with your existing curtains. Adding valances can make a bold statement in a room that lacks stimulation. This addition doesn’t have to be elaborate either; it could be a modest change in color, style and/or design with valances for windows in a way that’s subtle yet makes an impact.

A change in color shouldn’t be extremely different or radical. A quick check on the color wheel will show the opposite of the main color of the room that doesn’t have to be a sharp contrast. Interior designers start with this color as the primary color. Another option is to pick several colors the owner would never use and go to a paint store to see the different shades of those colors. These options will open up possibilities for a unique creation.

Whatever the current style of the window curtain valances, the new style could be very different if you want an extreme makeover. If the room has a very formal or tailored look, the new look should be soft and flowing. If the material and patterns will be something new and the current look is a soft, flowing silk in pastel colors, the new look should include a substantial material with formal lines and opinionated prints or colors and contrasting details. Once the designer is outside a comfort zone and begins to experiment with a variety of options, the joy of re-creating the space with window valances takes over and any reservations will quickly pass. What you are left with is an exciting room that may have been changed subtly or with flair, but the change will be noticeable regardless.
