Portable Charcoal Grill Options

Some people prefer the ease of a gas grill, but you simply cannot beat the taste of a charcoal grilled steak.  There are many portable charcoal grill appliances that will allow you to take that flame kissed flavor with you wherever you go.

You may think that a portable grill in the shape of a tool box would be a novelty, maybe a good Father’s Day gift; but the Tool Box Grill Pro is really a very practical portable grill.  Everything you need for grilling, including the charcoal can be loaded into the unit which makes it very portable.  It is very reasonably priced at $50 and makes for an easy charcoal grilling option.

The Cobb grill has a most unique design and is one of the most versatile portable grills available.  It will run on eight charcoal briquettes for up to three hours, will never flare-up and can cook a whole chicken as easily as burgers. This little grill is lightweight, easy to light and operate and is perfect for virtually every outdoor cooking situation.  The outside doesn’t even get hot so it can be moved during cooking; the only disadvantage is its relatively small size.

Another excellent portable charcoal grill is the Weber Smokey Joe.  It has a kettle design much like the full size Weber kettle grills.  These little grills are easy to use and hold quite a bit of food at one time.  This grill has a tried and true design and is one of the best choices for a portable grill.

Weber offers another portable charcoal grill in its Go Anywhere grill.  This is a compact suitcase designed grill that will fit in even the smallest vehicles.  It is sturdily built like all Weber grills so it will give you many years of transportable grilling.

One of the most creatively designed portable charcoal grills is the Son of Hibachi.  Fold it up for a chimney start up, open it for a double sided cooking area and put it in the snuff out bag when you’re done.  They really thought of everything when they designed this grill.

While the Woodflame Delecto is not exactly a charcoal grill, it is pretty neat.  This grill will give you authentic wood flavor in your cooking; it is an electric fan powered wood burning grill that can sear steaks at 1,000 degrees F., and give them a unique smoky flavor.  This grill weighs around 17 pounds, and while it won’t cook a whole chicken it’s perfect for steaks, fish or chicken pieces.  It’s a great portable grill for the gourmet on the go.
