Places to Buy Vinyl Decals

You may have seen a relative or friend with lettering on their walls, and I don’t mean their home getting vandalized with cuss words at Halloween because they handed out pennies. I mean a phrase or witty slogan across their living room or kitchen wall. Wall quotes are a creative and easy way to decorate your home, and they are becoming more and more recognized as an interior design element. And they seem to be the perfect little decorating tool – stylish, creative, versatile, easily customized, reusable, removable, and cheap. Now tell me how many sideboards and couches fit that description.

Below are some online stores that specialize in vinyl decals – customizable and otherwise.

• VinylCraftLettering.com. First off, I’ll point out that wall stickers aren’t the only things available here – you can also customize tiles and wooden signs. And with a font library of over 11,000 different fonts, I think there’s something there for just about everyone’s tastes. As for prices? Great – a 6”x36” wall decal will cost you, at most $21…at least for one of the already-made ones, anyway. There’s no price range for custom orders, but the site promises to be able to customize anything you want if you can’t find what you want on their existing e-shelves. Verdict: Great place. Go here.

• WallQuotes.com. I’ll make it clear up-front that this place is more about their current very large selection of vinyl stickers than about customized products. This is not to say they won’t do a custom design, though – usually if you give them an extra $25 or so on top of the normal cost of the sticker, they’ll make you whatever you want. Pricing is higher than on Vinyl Craft Lettering – for an 8”x36” sticker, it cost $28, but you have the option of choosing from several dozen text colors right there on the online order form. Verdict: Very nice selection, but maybe not the place to go for customized stuff. I still recommend it just for what they do have.

• QuoteTheWalls.com. This one also has a pretty decent selection, but the customizing options are slightly limited; the DIY stickers can be long, but not very tall. So if you want to put the preamble to the United States Constitution on your wall, you may want to try elsewhere as far as custom designs. Other than that, the prices are great: a 9”x65” decal will cost you about $31, which I think is a great deal. Verdict: Great prices considering the sizes, but like the last one, maybe not the greatest for customized stuff.

• EnchantingQuotes.com. Big selection here too, but I gotta say the quality isn’t that great. And some of the prices are good, but others seem to be a little much. Don’t even bother with the custom quote designer either. Yes, it leaves a lot of room for creativity (I like how the Disney font is available), but a 6”x36” custom sticker will cost you $81, which is about four times as much as the non-customized choices. Slight difference, yeah? Verdict: Worth a look, but not much else.

• VinylWallExpressions.com. If you want a personalized wall sticker, this is the place to go. This site doesn’t sell pre-made vinyl decals, it seems – they are totally about you making your very own sticker. The upside is the prices seem fairly sensible; a 6”x22” decal in a straight line is only about $20, and a 6”x49” decal is about $43. Yeah, those are steep, but still good for DIY prices. The downside is there’s not much of a font selection here, and the ones that are available are very curly and decorative. Verdict: Sort of good for making your own quotes, but there’s a limited variety of fonts.
