To summarize: One can still not be fully dependent on solar lighting if you do not live in a country with a lot of sun. For that reason most people are still inclined to use both ways of lighting. You can very well combine solar lighting and string lights to get the best of both. In this way you are always able to illuminate your home interior and you are not dependent on any sun.
