Ideas For Your Gazebo

There are many forms of gazebo now and not just the standard you see sitting in the middle of small towns where people would gather during holidays and festivals.   Today a gazebo is define as any type of structure that provide shade and shelter and usually have some decorative architecture and plantings around them.  Usually from this form of pavilion is associated with some form of pleasure such as just sitting and watching the world go by or even for meditation.

If you have one of these structures in your yard or garden, regardless of size it is a good idea to have built in benches to sit on.  These benches can even have some sort of hinge in the seat to use for storage of your outdoor cushions.

With all of the outdoor fabrics available, your cushions for your bench can be of any color and style that you can imagine.  It is just as easy to change the fabric for each holiday season.

One way of lighting your outdoor structure is with patio string lights up under the eaves of your pop up gazebo.  If you put a small  outdoor dining table inside of the pavilion a small battery powered table lamp and or candles can be placed on the table and surrounding benches and rails for romantic lighting during wine and appetizers.

Another option for lighting is to use outdoor sconces for the posts of the gazebo.  Personally I would use low wattage lighting as I don’t want to interfere with the ambiance of the setting I am hoping to achieve with the meal.

If you intend to use the pavilion for meditation be sure and have outdoor cushions, and a place to store or place any personal items you use in your meditation ritual.  I always like to have a little bottle of water just in case I want to continue to enjoy the peacefulness of the outdoors for a while after I have finished.
