Healthy Cooking with the Philips Air Fryer

Every year, manufacturers all over the world release new gadgets and appliances for our homes. Kitchen equipment has always sold well, as people love to buy products that make their lives easier or better in some way, and every now and again an appliance is released onto the market that can really make a difference. The microwave, for example, was a real game changer when it came to preparing quick and easy meals in our homes, but since then nothing quite so revolutionary has been available for us to buy – despite manufacturers spending millions of dollars every year on research and development. Recently though, following the ever increasing trend towards healthier living, Philips has released a product which really could be the next big thing. The Philips Air Fryer is a great little device that allows people to stick to their healthy eating ideals, whilst not having to forgo their old favourite “unhealthy” fried foods.

Fried foods are considered to be among the unhealthiest that we can eat – the excess oil and saturated fats cause us to put on weight, as well as increase our cholesterol levels which can lead to heart disease. So, it’s no wonder that these types of foods are the first on the list of things to avoid when a person decides to take more care of their diet. The Philips Air Fryer can be used to cook these types of foods in a way that uses no extra fat or oil, yet still leaves them with the taste and texture as though they were cooked in a deep fat fryer.

So, how does the Airfryer work? Well, for such a clever little machine it’s actually quite simple. At the front of the fryer is a drawer that contains a basket to hold the food. When the basket is loaded and the drawer firmly shut, it forms an airtight seal – all you need to do now is set the temperature and timer gauges, and you’re ready to cook. Super heated air is continually blasted around the inside of the Airfryer as the food is cooked by the overhead grill, and it’s the continual movement of air over the surface of the food that dries it while it cooks and leaves it with a crispy ‘fried-like’ texture.

Great tasting healthy food is not the only benefit of the Airfryer though – because of the way it works, it can cook most food far quicker and at a lower temperature than if it were cooked in a regular oven or fryer. So, not only can you sit down to eat a delicious meal in up to half the time, but you’ve also saved a bit of energy whilst cooking it.

The Philips Air Fryer has been designed by an award winning manufacturer, who always put a great deal of thought into their products. This ensures that it not only performs its primary task of cooking food perfectly, but that every other aspect of its use have been just as well considered.  For example, all the internal parts of the appliance that come in contact with food are covered in a non-stick coating, and are easily removed so that they can be washed either by hand or in a dishwasher.

The Air Fryer is a great little device that can be used to cook a whole range of different foods – from chips and meats, to jacket potatoes and even cakes, it’s incredibly versatile. With the food that it cooks being just as tasty as from the old fashioned appliances, but far healthier to eat, it’s no wonder that it’s becoming one of the fastest selling kitchen appliances of the last few years.
