Even though most people would prefer to have a queen or king sized bed, there are some areas where getting a 4 ft bed makes much more sense. Whether you have a guest room, a small efficiency apartment, or a growing child, a small double bed makes sense for you.
The first room that it makes sense to install a four foot bed in is a studio or small efficiency apartment. In these apartments, square footage is at a premium and getting a large bed can cause it to dominate the room. Unfortunately, getting a small bed makes sleeping uncomfortable. Fortunately, with a four foot bed, you are able to get a bed that is bigger than a single bed, but not as big as a double, letting you put it more places and not have to worry about it taking up all the available space in your apartment.
Another great place to put a 4 foot bed is in a guest room that isn’t heavily used. While you want your guests to get a good night’s sleep, placing a large bed in a small guest room means that you won’t be able to use the room for anything else. However, if you install a smaller bed, you can use the room for another purpose when you don’t have guests, whether it be for a children’s play room, den, or a study.
Small double beds are also great in rooms with growing children. If your child has outgrown his single bed, but the room is too small to fit a double bed and still allow him room to play, a four foot bed may be the answer. It’s big enough for a comfortable night’s sleep but not too that it takes up lots of space.
There are many different uses for a four foot bed, whether it’s for a guest room, children’s room, or a small apartment, you’ll no doubt enjoy yours if you get one. Just remember that these type of beds require a certain type of bedding, appropriate for their size.
