Fake Grass Is Ideal In Certain Circumstances
It’s true that fake grass is not natural and should not be used simply for the desire to have a nice looking lawn sitting in the front yard. Synthetic grass is not the perfect solution that many people would like it to be because it does have an impact on the environment, sometimes that impact is a positive one but many times it is also a negative impact. However, there are certain situations and locations that are ideal for fake grass.
One of the locations where it is universally agreed that it is perfect for fake grass to be used is in indoor sporting facilities. Artificial pitches used for indoor soccer or indoor cricket are tailor made for this kind of surface, the balls run smoothly and behave ideally using it and the footing of the players is more certain. Throw in indoor lawn bowls and artificial grass putting greens that are also located indoors and you have some pretty good uses for fake grass.
Another use of fake grass that is considered to be appropriate is that of urban playgrounds where the artificial turf has been used to cover concrete or blacktop surfaces. By using artificial grass the playground surface has been made considerably safer than it would be otherwise. Playground artificial grass is laid so that it protects the body from fall impacts greatly reducing the chance of serious injury to the children using the playground equipment.
Football stadium owners and clubs running competitions are turning towards the possibility of replacing their natural grass fields with synthetic turf. The desire to give their players a dependable, consistent playing surface is officially behind the reasons for the switch but the fact that it costs far less to maintain a synthetic grass field must have a lot to do with many of the decisions.
The bottom line is that the ability to consistently come up with a reliable surface upon which to hold sporting contests is putting artificial grass forward as a preferred playing surface. While detractors still do their best to come with reasons why it should not be used the move continues and we are getting more top quality sport to watch as a result.
