Cleaning a wood chair

Cleaning a wood chair is a fairly straight forward process this technique is able to be used on all wooden chairs and will prolong the life of your chair and keep it looking polished and shined. All you will need is a soft brush a clean cloth, and a wood cleaning solution so make sure you have everything you need before you start. First of all using a soft bristle paint brush, brush any soot or dust from your chair be sure to get into all those nooks and crevices especially between the lats which are the gaps between the wood. Dampen a clean cloth with wood cleaner which you can purchase form a hardware store, natural oils will work best or if your not sure then ask at the counter they will be more than happy to help you find the right product. Turn your chair upside down and start adding the cleaning solution from the cloth. Once you apply the cleaner you will notice the wood change to a slightly darker color, this is temporary until the cleaner dries. If you notice that the wood is not turning dark any more then that means you will need to add more cleaner to your cloth. Make sure your don’t miss any areas especially between the gaps. Once you have done the bottom you may now turn your chair upright and start doing the top. Now start cleaning the back of the chair and work your way down to the arms of the seat with your cloth. The seat will eventually turn to a natural smooth finish once it is fully dried, once you are satisfied it is dry enough you can give it a quick buff with a separate cloth to bring out the shine and your wood chair will look like new once again.
