In these modern times, many people are tending to move away from heavy, formal looks in their homes to lighter, more casual settings. As this trend has accelerated, eyelet curtains have become increasingly popular. You can vary the look achieved in a particular room by choosing a fabric that suits the look you are going for.
Because most eyelet curtains are made of relatively sheer fabrics, if you are interested in having your room darkened, you have a couple of options. First, you can opt to have lined eyelet curtains, which feature an additional layer of light blocking fabric sewn behind the face fabric. If that doesn’t suit your taste, you can also install room-darkening blinds behind the sheer eyelet curtains and close them when you want to block light or prying eyes.
In order to hide the blinds when they are not needed, eyelet curtains can be ordered or made with a valance of material matching the main body of the curtains. This valance will hide the drawn up blinds and also add a touch of elegance to the overall look of the room.
