Blinds for the Kitchen

So you want to get blinds for the kitchen? What kind should you get? Venetian mini blinds? Wooden plantation blinds? I know, there are so many different kinds and styles out there that it will make your head spin when you start researching what you want.

There are some things that need to be taken into consideration when you’re on your hunt though. One of the most important is the general style of your kitchen. Have you got an ultra-modern kitchen that has sleek lines and chrome? If so, then there models and brands that are made of aluminum and chrome and will match up with other stainless steel looking appliances.

Perhaps your kitchen is designed with a country feel. If so, then you probably have a good deal of wood grains and homey brown colors. If this sounds more like your kitchen you might want to look at some of the faux wood blinds that are on the market. Wood isn’t the best choice for a kitchen due to the moisture that typically collects in the air.

Many of the blinds for the kitchen on the market now are specifically designed for the kitchen and will have a finish on them that is mildew resistant and easy to clean. For this type of blind, you can simply wipe them down with a moist cloth to keep them clean when you normally would do your dusting.

Determine the style of blind that will go well in your kitchen and then choose your color. Perhaps you want it to perfectly match up with the other colors that you have in your kitchen, or you may want to add an accent color that will really make them pop! Either way, a little research will give you several choices both in color and material.
